The story began in 2020 when a Navy veteran and IT professional couldn’t shake the dream of owning a bar. That spring, while driving past the old VFW building, he mentioned it (yet again) to his adventurous wife. Her response? “Pull in. Let’s call the number.” And just like that, the dream started to become reality.

The first look inside the building was lit by cellphone flashlights, but the vision was clear. Within days, the lease was signed, and the work began. Together with a crew of talented friends, we ripped up carpets, painted walls, built a stage and dance floor, and made the space come alive.

Of course, The Stock Tank had to have something unforgettable. Enter Miranda’s idea: a six-foot-longhorn skull (nicknamed La Grange) that HAD to rotate over the dance floor. Johnnie thought she was crazy, but after hours of problem-solving, he made it happen!

Despite Hurricane Sally’s unexpected challenges—no power, no liquor license, and juggling home repairs—we opened on October 1, 2020, as a BYOB karaoke and live music spot. Since then, The Stock Tank been creating memories with amazing customers who’ve become family.
